New Norcia Masterclass

What a magic weekend for the April Masterclass. Together with Denis Glennon, it was a priveledge to share a unique experience with our Masterclass attendees in New Norcia. From the moving opening address from Dom Michael, a resident Benedictine Monk, the entertaining expose of the historic art collection as shared by Dom Chris, to the beautiful sunrise that greeted us on the Sunday morning, we were treated to a special opportunity to explore ‘Creativity’ in photography! Here are a few of my favourite images as captured over the weekend.

Thanks again to all the attendees and I look forward to sharing the next stage of the journey in the near future!

Pilbara Project Exhibition

WHEELS OF INDUSTRY

Shot from a vantage point overlooking the BHP Billiton site in Port Hedland.

The texture overlays are taken from the sides of the small building bringing

detail to the image otherwise unseen. This is one of my favourite images from

my Pilbara Project portfolio!

Landscapes and Portraits . . .

When speaking with a fellow photographer the other day I was asked how often the eye of a landscape photographer comes into play when capturing portraits.

I find that I am always looking at the location as a landscape photographer, and then searching for ways to illustrate people interacting within this environment.

My experiences as a landscape photographer have definately played an important role in the large majority of my location portraits.

” . . . a bridge to nowhere”

An interesting challenge to make an unfinished freeway intersection look interesting.

Looking forward to the challenges of 2011 and where they might lead?

Onslow Jetty

Onslow Jetty

Onslow Jetty

After flying in from Perth to Karratha and driving down to Onslow, there was just enough time to get down on the beach, put my feet into the warm waters of the northwest and capture this image of the salt jetty.
